ABOUT
Welcome to ScratchViews, a free ressource made by @alexandretherrien on Scratch. Here,
you can get accurate and important stats about Scratch projects and users.
For example, ScratchViews allows you to see user's total stats, most viewed projects, and whether any project is indexed or not, which tells you if it can show up on Sratch's Search and Explore. Another great
reason to use ScratchViews is to check your project's search stats. Let's explain:
One misunderstood fact about Scratch is that, for any project, Scratch uses two types of statistics. First, there is the real stats. These are the stats (views, loves, favorites...) that you see when you click on a project. Scratch updates them every time someone views, loves, favorites... a project, so they are very accurate. The second type of statistics linked to any project are the Search stats. As the name suggests, these stats are the only stats being used to order your project on Search and explore. In other words, these stats determine where your project will be placed on Search and Explore. These stats are not updated every time someove views a project and need to frequently be updated by Scratch's servers to stay accurate to the real stats, else the search stats will be way lower.
The problem is Scratch is often not reliable at uptating the Search stats of projects, so these stats often stays extremely low for months no matter what are the real stats, which affects where projects appear on Search or Explore. So, for example, a project could have 100 000 real views, but be stuck at 1 Search views which means the project will be at the bottom of the results even though the project has thousands of real views.
So, by showing both the real stats and the Search stats of any project and also whether or not your project is indexed, ScratchViews allows you to understand where and why your project shows up on Search and Explore. In addition, ScratchStats gives you the abillity to search for any user and get plenty of statistics about their account and project!
